What A Load of Rubbish!
It's ironic that Donegal County Council are promoting recycling while still contemplating plans to situate a landfill dump at Minaboll, high in the hills above Letterkenny, in a particularily scenic spot of An Gaeltacht Lár. Local people have no intention of allowing such a development and in the spirit of the EU 'polluter pays' policy, a landfill, if any, should be situated in Letterkenny and not 15 miles away in the centre of Donegal.
The Council has also mooted the idea of another landfill dump in Inishowen, this time on top of the scenic Scalp mountain - the idea of situating a landfill up any mountain is the biggest load of rubbish we've heard in a long time.
Make your objections know by email or in writing to Donal Casey, Donegal County Council, Lifford, County Donegal.
